2013 is the year I really focus on building a business making cakes for clients…. so I have been working on my branding and photography skills…
My New logo was created for me by my 14 year old daughter from a sketch I gave her and my new photos have been styled on my bed with my own wedding dress for great lighting and a bridal inspired feel.
I will be showing my work at a local bridal fair in february… so plenty of work and planning until then

I spent last week going very nutty over Lego men!!! My son Campbell had a great time with all his friends at his party… hope you get inspired!

Lego Cookies. I almost ran out of time to make these… but I couldn’t sleep so I got up at 5 am to bake them! So glad I did, they looked so cool! They are very easy to make, so I will put together a tutorial for them soon.
So easy to make! I just printed and cut out lots of lego man faces and stuck them onto the chinese take away boxes with doubled over sticky tape.
I made wrappers for the chocolate bars and mini lemonade bottles….
Personalised tags for the lego man crayons to go with the colouring in books…
I sent the kiddies home with a big piece of cake and their other little goodies in these bags.

Just came across this sweet carnival styled party… so pretty. Perfect attention to detail! I want that hot dog stand!!! See all the photos here
- 250 g butter
- 250 g white chocolate
- 200 mL water
- 1½ cups caster sugar
- 1¾ cups plain flour
- 1 cup self-raising flour
- 2 eggs, lightly beaten
- ½ cup sour cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
- Preheat oven to 150°C.
- Heat butter, sugar, chocolate, and water in a saucepan and stir over low heat until all combined.
- Sift both flours together and blend into chocolate mixture.
- Stir in eggs, sour cream and vanilla.
- Pour the mixture into a deep 20 cm tin and cook for approximately 1-2 hours depending on oven.
As you can tell from the photo this cake recipe has beautiful texture and is perfect for sculpting and sharp edges. Love it with white chocolate ganache flavoured with rose water or coconut.
